Preclinical Evidences of Malay Traditional Herbal Supplement for Diabetes

This study is an initiative to unveil and validate the past wisdom of Malay traditional herbal medication. Extensive list of potential medicinal herbs and plants in Malay Peninsula is well documented by British botanist, Burkill in 1936. However, the recipe is remained a secret. In this report, one herbal folk recipe of jamu KM is subjected to scientific studies. Jamu KM is a proprietary of small cottage player in herbal medicine. The formula was trusted for scientific scrutiny to validate its traditional claim for diabetes treatment.
