Title
Malay traditional practices surrounding the postpartum period:
a qualitative case study
a qualitative case study
Description
In Malaysia, traditional postpartum practices have long been practised among the community. Although
the cultural aspects of postpartum practices among the Malays are widely described in the literature, no one has attempted to describe in detail the treatment regimen applied in Malay traditional postpartum care (TPC). Thus, it has been impossible to draw any conclusion on the efficacy of these treatment methods. Detailed information on treatment regimens is essential when developing a standard treatment protocol based on the common Malay traditional practices and prior to conducting further research on the effectiveness of its treatments.
